Daytime pictures are pretty sharp and have good color quality. It seems to stop motion well and is above average, overall. Night pictures have strong contrast but do blur a bit on motion. You can see sample photos from this Browning Strike Force Max Plus camera below.

Daytime video quality is grainy and lacking in high-end quality. Night video isn't bad for a red glow camera, not the best on the market but certainly usable. Overall, we consider video quality to be below average.

    Night IR Blur Test

The equipment for the test consists of a target moving along a track from left to right at a constant speed controlled by a stepper motor and a sensor to trigger the capture of a picture near the center of the field of view of a trail camera.

The target is moving at 1.25 feet per second and is 10 feet from the camera at the center of field of view.  The test is conducted in a dark room.   Two pictures are taken, one with the target not moving and one with the target in motion.  A visual comparison can now be made of the two pictures.  All settings that affect the quality of night photos will be tested.

This is a common question and we have a very simple solution. You have control of the process, remember, we work for you.

    Megapixel Ratings:

In the past, many people get confused with the megapixel rating trail camera manufacturers advertise.  Companies inflate the mpxl rating to attract eyes to their products.  They do this through interpolation, which digitally adds megapixels to a photo without actually improving the picture.

The best way to judge picture quality is to look at actual pictures.  You will notice this the most when you zoom in on a full-size image that a camera has taken.  The details of the photo will appear hazy or even digitized.  This is normal, and to be expected.

    Battery Life:    85/10

Picture & Video Resting Power (on):  1.01 mW

    Picture Daytime/Nighttime Power Consumption:  1.3 Ws  |  2.5 Ws

  • Video Daytime/Nighttime Power Consumption:  11.1 Ws  |  64.8 Ws

    Picture Mode

  • If this Browning Strike Force Max Plus camera were to take 35-day and 35-night pictures every 24 hours, this camera would last 14.8 months in the field on a set of . We consider this to be outstanding, especially considering the camera only uses 6 batteries.

    Video Mode

If this Browning Strike Force Max Plus camera were to take 15-day and 15-night videos (10-second videos) every 24 hours, it would last 2.2 months in the field on a set of lithium batteries.

    Detection Circuit:     94/100

    Picture Trigger & Recovery Speed: 0.04 s.  |  0.6 s.

    Video Trigger & Recovery Speed:  0.43 s.  |  0.8 s.

Detection Range & Angle: 90 ft. @ 48.1° detection angle (40.3° field of view)

This detection circuit boasts incredibly faster trigger speeds and great recovery times. The 90 ft. detection range is good, but the detection angle is 8° wider than the field of view. This could result in a few false triggers. Overall, this Browning Strike Force Max Plus has a great detection circuit.

    Quality of Design:     85/100

    Durability

We have no concerns over durability, if anything arises, we will immediately update this review. The only thing we see on a regular basis is incorrect temperature readings. We see this on all Browning cameras, so if this is a big concern for you, we would recommend a different brand as they all tend to be inaccurate.
